Biography: Ms. James is an experienced and accomplished family law attorney. She handles client matters from case inception through settlement. She is experienced in representing clients in court, but also works well with opposing counsel to obtain settlements. Ms. James zealously advocates her clients' positions but at the same time has the ability to settle difficult cases. She has experience in representing clients in court, in the private judging venue, and in mediations. Furthermore, she is compassionate and patient during what is generally one of the most difficult times in a person's life. Prior to joining the Law Offices of Peter G. Loewenstein, Ms. James practiced family law at a small boutique family law firm in Alameda since graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law and passing the bar in 2002. She is an active member of the legal community and well respected by the local bar and bench alike. She has been a board member of the Alameda County Bar Association and a member of the Inns of Court over the last several years. She was Chair of the Barristers Section of the Alameda County Bar for two years and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for a Barrister from the Alameda County Bar Association for 2007. During her tenure as Barrister Chair, she established the "Lunch with a Judge" program and started the annual Barristers Golf Tournament; both have been great successes and enjoyed by the Bench and the Bar.
